One of the leading causes of cracked headers: worn motor mounts and cracked/worn brackets. The Brown Dog header bracket design offers a little more room in the exhaust area to assure no conflict. Why risk cracking a header when you could hold your engine and header securely in place with Brown Dog motor mounts and header brackets. Bracket construction features all-steel with double-welds. Engineered for use with stock-height motor mounts (MMs) or 1" or 2" motor mount lifts (MMLs). Unique lipless bracket design will not interfere with installation of 1" or 2" MMLs.

We strongly recommend upgrading to the Brown Dog's High-Performance Motor Mount when converting to this bracket. Stock mounts designed for street driving will simply not hold up. Since we know first-hand how much fun it is the change motor mounts and brackets, we suggest you change both at once. And never have to do it again. Upgrade Kits listed below.

Hardware
The Brown Dog ships all new Grade 8 hardware for bolting bracket to engine block. (You'll remove and discard the threaded studs that hold your current bracket to the block, then use the same engine thread bosses with the new hardware we send.) All new Grade 8 through-bolts, lock nuts and washers are also shipped for securing bracket to motor mounts or motor mount lifts.
