The Brown Dog has experienced a couple busted stock motor mounts himself, on his own Jeep. This is why we engineered these replacement motor mounts for extreme strength. You'll find these mounts a serious upgrade from most other mounts, too.

High performance design.
We engineered these XJ motor mounts for extreme strength, ease of installation, and long-life featuring replaceable bushings. In fact, we believe you'll find these a serious upgrade, especially when encountering the torque often experienced in offroad conditions (and even on the streets and highways where potholes make it seem like offroad).

Extreme strength.

These Cherokee XJ MMs are all steel and feature double-welded joints to provide the most strength possible. And, just to make sure, we periodically pull a set of mounts off the shelf and put them through our 20-Ton Press Test. We have yet to see a Brown Dog MM or MML with a structural failure.

Bolts directly to original equipment brackets.

Unlike most other high-performance motor mounts, these do not require trimming or grinding to fit. We've designed the left (driver side) mount to accommodate the lip cast into the engine bracket arms found on most XJ, MJ and SJ. You get full benefit of the bushings with bolt-in convenience.

Classic Polyurethane bushings.

The Classic Polyurethane bushings in this set of Brown Dog motor mounts will give your rig a sportier feel. If the bushings ever start to wear, replacements are available from Brown Dog Offroad. Installation Notes

Mounts bolt in the identical position of the stock mounts.
Engine remains in stock position.
Carefully inspect engine brackets for any excess wear, especially cracks. The original brackets weren't designed to handle the strength of these high-performance motor mounts. If brackets show wear, order K2572-0 or S2572-0 (below) which include Motor Mounts and Engine Brackets.
Tighten thru-bolts (bolt that goes through bracket arms and motor mount) snug. Do not overtighten through-bolt locknuts. Please remember, locknuts are for one-time use only. If removed, they should be replaced, not re-used. Air tools should not be used here.
Bolts to frame-side brackets should be tightened like most others on your Cherokee. Nice and tight.
