Do I need a 1.5" or 2" MML? Probably not. Some abnormal circumstances in which 1.5" or 2" MMLs may be useful include extreme suspension lift, custom frames, custom engine installations, or bodies that require a particular engine position due to an out-of-the-ordinary configuration. Most typical suspension lifts (up to about 6") and other common modifications of stock vehicles do not fall in this category. If you are considering installing a 1.5" or 2" MML, Please check for enough clearance between the bell housing and floor pan. Also check for enough clearance between the valve cover and the hood; this can be done by putting a ball of modeling clay on the highest part of the valve cover and closing the hood (measure the resulting ball). Remember, you're moving the entire engine assembly 2" upward at the radiator fan. Do all of the research and homework you can. Call us, or chat with people on Jeep Forum or NAXJA. Find people who have done it, or those who have considered it. This is not your everyday modification. Be sure you know what you are doing. CU2883-1K4, Ultra-Flex Rubber 1" Motor Mount Lifts (Pair) Want Jeep motor mount lifts (MMLs) to help correct driveline angle caused by an extreme suspension lift? Doing a tummy tuck or other modification that's impacting drive-line angle? Brown Dog designed these MML to reposition your engine one inch higher than stock (at the cooling fan). This modification results in a change in the driveline angle. High Performance Design. The Brown Dog experienced a sagging engine on his own Wrangler. This is why we engineered these replacement MML for extreme strength. You'll find these mounts a serious upgrade from most others, too. We use plate steel and double-weld joints to provide the most strength possible. And, just to make sure, we periodically pull one off the shelf and put it through our 20-Ton Press Test. We have never seen a structural failure on Brown Dog mounts. Featuring Ultra-Flex Rubber Bushings. These Brown Dog motor mounts feature Ultra-Flex Rubber bushings designed to dampen drive-train vibration. If this is your daily driver, you may find these bushings well worth the extra money. Should you ever need to replace the bushings, well have them. Prefer Classic Polyurethane bushings? We offer all motor mounts and motor mount lifts with either polyurethane or rubber to match your preference. Not sure which is for you? Click here. Backed by Brown Dog Promise. Brown Dog motor mounts will be the last set of mounts you'll need. The Brown Dog gives you his promise. Installation Notes -
2.5L or 2.4L Jeep Engine is lifted 1" at stock cooling fan. -
Mounts bolt directly to the pylons (frame-side brackets) and slide into original engine brackets with no trimming or grinding. -
Carefully inspect engine brackets for any excess wear, especially cracks. The original brackets weren't designed to handle the strength of these high-performance motor mounts. If engine brackets need replaced, please consider upgrading to the appropriate kit for your vehicle and engine. All Brown Dog Offroad kits include both Motor Mount Lifts and both Engine Brackets. -
Tighten through-bolts (bolt that goes through bracket arms and motor mount) snug. Do NOT over-tighten all-metal lock nuts on through-bolts. - Bolts to pylons should be tightened like most others on your Jeep frame. Nice and tight.
- If you have any questions during installation or believe a part will not fit, do NOT alter the part. Call Brown Dog, 866 401-3877. We have extended support to assist with installation.
