The Brown Dog has friends with 2.5L 1987-1990 Wrangler YJs who have experienced a sagging motor mount. He also knows dogs who ride inn 1984-1986 2.8L V6 Cherokee XJ. Since he wants all his Jeepin' dog friends to ride secure, we engineered these replacement motor mounts for extreme strength. You'll find these mounts a serious upgrade from most aftermarket mounts, too.
High Performance Design.
We use American steel and feature double-weld joints to provide the most strength possible. And, just to make sure, we periodically pull a set of mounts off the shelf and put them through our 20-Ton Press Test. We have yet to see a Brown Dog motor mount or motor mount lift with a structural failure.
Choose Classic Polyurethane or Ultra-Flex Rubber Bushings.
These mounts come with Classic Polyurethane bushings installed. This will give your rig a sportier feel. Later, you can swap the bushings for Ultra-Flex Rubber bushings (a bit softer to absorb a bit more drive-line vibration). Stock-Height Motor Mounts
These motor mounts return your engine to the original position. Over the years your original motor mounts have likely worn, letting your engine 'sink' just a bit. Our motor mounts re-position your engine its original geometry. In fact, if you put one of our motor mounts next to a all-new Jeep strap-style motor mount, you'll see the through bolt is positioned in exactly the same place. Not a 1/16" higher nor lower. Of course, like all our motor mounts, these bolt into the same holes on the frame-side bracket and slide into the engine block bracket with absolutely no modification.
1" Motor Mount Lifts
Want Jeep motor mount lifts (MMLs) to help compensate for driveline angle problems cause by a suspension lift? Have some other modification that impacted the driveline angle? Plan to do a tummy tuck? The Brown Dog designed these motor mount lifts to reposition your engine one inch higher than stock (at the cooling fan). This modification results in a change in the driveline angle. Order part number A2569-1.

Installation Notes
- Do not over-tighten through-bolts (bolts that go through these mounts and the engine side brackets). Carefully follow tightening instructions.
- Mounts bolt directly to the pylons, in the same holes as stock mounts.
- Carefully inspect engine bracket for any excess wear, especially cracks. Also inspect engine bracket bolts to be sure one hasn't sheared or broken out a thread boss on the engine block,
- These motor mounts are significantly stronger than the originals so your brackets need to be in good shape.
